Individual counseling is designed to help the individual learn what triggers their drug abuse and to help them find a healthier, more beneficial way to cope with their issues and group counseling allows the individual to share stories with other recovering addicts and gain strength from the experience of others in similar situations.The purpose of these sessions is to help the addicted individual understand what leads them to use the substance, and then to learn effective ways to cope with life without the need for such drugs.
