Desmond Hill - Centre Manager, was the obvious choice for this role having worked at TTP in Luton for three and a half years and having gained substantial experience in the addiction counselling field. His chosen career has been to practice in the field of addiction due to his personal experience.

He trained in Person Centred and Psychodynamic Counselling at The University of London (Birbeck College). The early part of his training was done at Addaction in Farringdon, London which is the UK’s largest drug and alcohol treatment charity.

His main aim is to assist the clients to fulfill their life’s potential on an abstinence basis, while ensuring that their stay at The Clifton Clinic is both comfortable and secure.

Dale Conlon - Admissions Manager. Due to his own experiences, Dale embarked on a vocation in the drug and alcohol field six years ago. He has worked in the UK, Europe and North America in both 12 step and non 12 step holistic and therapeutic based residential rehab units and medical detox units.

Dale joined the Thames Clinic, part of the TTP Group in January 2009. His role is to work directly with families and individuals from entering detox and during their stay in rehab. Dale is always available to answer any questions that you may have about our detox and rehab programmes.

Sue Ryan - Lead Nurse. Qualified in 19983 as a psychiatric nurse (RMN), and for many years, has worked with people who have mental health issues who quite often use drugs/alcohol as a coping mechanism. The complexity of addiction is something that I have a real interest in, and my aim is to lead a team of nurses who will ensure that all clients detox safely, in a caring, therapeutic and motivational environment, to give them a good start on their road to recovery.

Natalie Braidwood - Psychiatric nurse (RMN) has worked in the field of addictions and dual diagnosis for the past ten years. She currently works as senior nurse of the Thames Clinic. Her knowledge and experience has been invaluable in the caring of clients going through the difficult process of a detox, her aims are to ensure that they do this in a safe environment with the hope of giving them the opportunity to continue with an abstinence based life.

Dev Matadeen - Dev is an RMN with extensive experience in private and NHS sectors in mental health and substance misuse. Dev works nights at the Thames Clinic. He finds the work both challenging and interesting.

Fatime Coulibaly - An experienced support worker who has worked in mental health, general medicine, forensic psychiatry and substance misuse settings in both private and NHS. Keenly interested to study more in-depth the nature of addiction, having completed NVQ level 3. Strives to integrate theory to practice. Finds the recovery of clients both stimulating and rewarding.

Sam Withers - Has recently joined the team as Group Facilitator/Administrator. She works closely with Des Hill to ensure smooth running of the clinic on the admin side. Sam also takes a variety of workshops including Food & Nutrition, thus promoting a healthy lifestyle for our clients during their recovery, she also encourages and escorts clients to the local gym and enjoys motivating the clients to undertake exercise as part of a holistic recovery. She also facilitates the creative workshops such as music, art therapy and meditation. From her own personal experience,Sam has a keen interest in the clients' progression through the 12 Step Programme and also enjoys leading the clients through the study of the Big Book. Sam is currently preparing for further studies in Counselling skills to enhance her role within the team.

Gary Davidson - Gary works as a Recovery Coach at the Thames Clinic. He runs such groups as Big Book Studies, Process group as well as music and art therapy. He also has a broad knowledge of the 12 steps. Gary has an advanced diploma in Integrative Counselling.

Paul Blair - Paul is our in-house chef. Paul has a background of working in the catering industry for 13 years and his work has included hotels, gastro-pubs, members' clubs, City of London restaurants. Paul is very passionate about his role here and enjoys promoting a healthy and varied diet.
