Mephedrone
The “alternative” drug of mephedrone, a yellow powder sold as fertilizer, is legal providing it is not processed or marketed for human consumption. It has been made illegal in many European countries, but not yet in the UK. Absurdly, legal high drugs, like Mephedrone, are rapidly becoming more popular as they are perceived as safer, purer and better value. The truth of the matter is that there are ‘no safe’ substances, unless it is legally prescribed and used as directed by a professional.
Even though there hasn’t been much reported on the side effects of mephedrone, users are said to risk side-effects including rapid heartbeat, mood swings, severe pain and nose bleeds, hallucinations, rashes and purpling of the skin, which can last for several weeks.
