Drug Addiction is complicated. It's not necessarily just about what caused the addiction or what led a person to use drugs in the first place. In some cases addiction creates new problems that stem from the lifestyle itself.
At the Thames Clinic, we strive to help our clients recognise that they actually have a substance abuse problem, once this is accepted our trained counsellors will help define the psychological triggers, which cause the addict to 'use'. With acceptance of a problem we would then look at introducing a pattern to help break the pattern of behaviour, and furthermore we address the skills needed to maintain recovery.
