Pre-admission assessment

The first step is a pre-admission assessment conducted either by telephone or in-person by our dedicated Admissions team. Our team of professionals will consider any medical, psychiatric and other needs which are important to your individual treatment plan and your suitability for admission to the clinic. Our Admissions Team will liaise with on-duty staff at the Thames Clinic and your admission time and date will be scheduled. Payments of treatment fees are due before your admission.

Admission

On Arrival: You will be welcomed by our team of recovery specialists, who understand your situation. You room will have been allocated prior to your arrival and you are welcome to bring special items such as photographs, books and mementos to make your room a personal space. For the safety of our clients, there are some items that we request are not brought into the clinic. Our staff will help you to unpack and all belongings will be checked.

Please avoid bringing the following to the clinic:

  • Sharp Objects
  • Items containing Alcohol
  • Medication, including Vitamins unless prescribed for you.
  • Personal music players (including IPods)

Should you arrive with any of the above items, they will be stored safely until your discharge.

A duty nurse will give you an initial consultation with our on duty nurse and will go through observations and tests prior to the doctor's arrival. The order and arrangement of this may vary in busy periods and out-of-hours admissions.
